Base Currency

The base currency, also known as the functional currency, is the currency of the country in which a business is primarily based. It is the currency in which most of the transactions happen. Furthermore, all the financial statements like balance sheet, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements will be published in this currency.

For example, if a German-based company conducts business with customers within Germany, the Euro would be the base currency.
