Consignment

Consignment is an arrangement in which a reseller receives products from a supplier without making any payment until selling the goods. Although the products are in the hands of the reseller, their ownership is retained by the supplier until being sold. The reseller eventually pays the supplier for the products they have sold and returns the products they haven’t.

In this arrangement, the reseller is called the consignee, and the supplier is called the consignor.
