New Process for Per Diem Configuration

You can now configure per diem rates for multiple travel locations by fetching the latest rates as declared by your government. You can import them manually, add custom rates, or add a per diem rate for a particular location. These per diem rates will be auto-calculated based on the configuration when a user creates an expense. If you do not have access to this feature, contact support@zohoexpense.com to have it enabled it for you.

Fetch Real-Time Feeds for Card Transactions (US Edition)

Android App Updates

• While creating a mileage expense, the start date of your GPS tracking will be auto-filled.

Germany edition

Launching the all-new Germany edition in Zoho Expense! When you select Germany as your location while creating an organization and enable VAT, Zoho Expense will preconfigure the applicable tax rates for businesses in Germany. Similarly, the mileage rates for Cars and Motorcycles as suggested by the German government will also be available by default, however, you can create your own rates for these vehicle types, based on your preference. You can also access Zoho Expense in the Deutsch language, if required.

• Zoho Expense is now compatible with iOS17 and iPadOS 17! Access shortcuts from spotlight, view real time updates on the distance covered using GPS and the time left for your flight on your lock screen and dynamic island with live activities, and view pending tasks by Zia with interactive widgets. The macOS Sonoma updates were released on September 26.

• If you've enabled VAT for your Germany edition organizations, the government tax rates will be automatically available for you and the users can apply them to their expenses. Similarly, the government's mileage rates will also be readily available to apply to your mileage expenses.

Select delivery address for purchase requests

Users can now choose a delivery address while creating a purchase request. The organization's primary address will be prefilled by default. However, admins will be able to add a new address or edit the existing address.

Report automation for corporate card expenses

Automatically generate reports to compile the expenses of your corporate card, using Report Automation. Once you enable report automation, a report will be automatically created on the billing date and all the expenses incurred using your corporate card will be attached to the report. You can also configure automatic submission, if required.

Users can now book their trips directly through GetThere from within Zoho Expense. We've now provided an option to let users view the list of previous delegates that were assigned for them in My View and the admins can view the list of all the delegates that have been assigned for a user in the Admin View. Fetch Canadian tax rates automatically

When you create a new organization with Canada as the Location and enable Taxes, Zoho Expense will now fetch the Canadian government's tax rates and agencies automatically. Users can then apply these tax rates on their expenses. However, if you have custom tax rates, you can create them as well.

When you create a new expense type, you can now select if you want to configure per diem for the expense type. Additionally, you can choose if you want to record the expense type as a component or a supplement and select the ways by which you can record per diem expenses for this expense type.

When you configure a delegate, you can now set up the start date and the end date by which the delegate should stop having access to your account. With this feature, you can easily assign delegates for future dates and adjust the access given to your account anytime.

Help text for custom fields

When you're creating a custom field, you can now add a note to help users understand the purpose of the field. You can enter the purpose in the Help Text field while creating the custom field. Once this is done, users will be able to view this text, when they hover over the help icon on the custom field.

Autoscan receipts inside reports

Upload receipts for autoscan inside reports. Once you upload a receipt from inside a report, the receipt will be autoscanned, converted into an expense, and get attached to the report automatically. You'll no longer have to add receipts inside the Expenses module and then add them to a report.

Effective date for policy rules

Now, you can add effective dates for the rules you configure in Policies. Once you set up an effective date, the rule will be applied only to the expenses that are dated on or after the effective date. If you don't set up an effective date, the rules will be applied to all the expenses.

Add delegates for active users

In addition to deleted users, admins can now add delegates for active users. If there are cases where a user is away from office but has to submit a trip request or approve another user's trip immediately, then an admin can appoint a delegate for the user to perform actions on their behalf.

GPS mileage type for vehicles

Under the Policy Settings, the travel desk can now enable the option to add tickets and booking confirmations directly to trip requests without providing options for flights, trains, or other travel modes. Comment on Expenses in Reports

In addition to commenting on expenses inside reports, you can now add comments on expenses right from the expense details page instead of switching to the report details page. If your report is Awaiting Approval, Approved, or Reimbursed, you can click the expense inside a report, navigate to the Comments tab that's next to the Details tab to add your comments.

Android App Updates

Now, you can upload up to 5 receipts at a time for autoscan from third party applications. If you enter the odometer start reading to create a mileage expense and put the app to background or the phone shuts down, the next time you open the app, the odometer reading will be remembered and prefilled so that you can create a mileage expense with the same reading without having to enter it again. In the Approvals module, when you view a report PDF, you can now select a template by which you would like to view the PDF. Now create mileage expenses for Electric vehicles using your mobile app. When you create a mileage expense simply choose the fuel type as 'Electric'. Also, when you add new vehicles to your mileage policy, you can associate this new fuel type for electric vehicles.

Our expense and report pages now sport a brand new look! Along with the UI overhaul comes a slew of new features. View the history of each expense and report on the fly. A lot of approver specific features have been introduced in this update. This includes editing submitted expenses and the option to reject individual expenses. Now add comments from within our app. Custom fields now have a data type field. Limit the input to maintain data consistency. You can now edit the tax amount instead. Not always do you get a percentage! Create, edit and delete currencies on the go. We have also squashed some bugs in this update.
