I have created a custom field at the customer level, and I want it to be automatically applied when I create an invoice. What should I do?
You can create a custom field at the invoice level and use the Inherit Value option to automatically pick the value while creating the invoice.
Here’s how you can create a custom field:
- Click the Settings icon at the top right corner.
- Go to Sales and choose Invoices.
- Select the Field Customization tab.
- Click + New Custom Field at the top right corner of the page.
- Enter the details and choose the corresponding data type.
- Click Inherit Value near the Default Value field.
- Choose Customers from the dropdown and select the required custom field.
- Click Save to complete the process.
Now, when you create an invoice for a customer, the custom field value from the customer record will be automatically applied to the invoice.
