# What should we do if we’re getting the “Products already exist” error while performing an import update?

Make sure your import file contains both **Product ID** and **Variant ID**, and that the values are not converted. The Product ID and Variant ID must also be mapped correctly to the corresponding columns in the mapping step of the import process.
