# Which mode of stock tracking is affected during a stock update?

The stock update to the markeplace depends on the mode of stock tracking that you’ve opted for your organization. If the mode of stock tracking is physical then the physical stock of the item will be updated. Likewise for the accounting stock. If a transaction is created in an integrated Zoho Books account, the stock update will take place based on the mode of stock tracking chosen in Zoho Inventory.
