General
The General tab under Manufacturing settings lets you enable Subcontracting for your organisation. Subcontracting lets you outsource production operations to an external vendor while Zoho ERP tracks the raw materials issued to the vendor and the finished goods received back.
Prerequisite: You must enable the Manufacturing module before you can access Manufacturing settings.
Enable Subcontracting
To enable subcontracting,
- Click the Gear icon in the top right corner.
- Scroll down to Module Settings.
- Under Manufacturing, click General.
- Enable the Subcontracting toggle.
- Click Save.
Note: Once you enable Subcontracting, the Subcontract Bill of Materials checkbox becomes available while creating a bill of materials, and the subcontracting workflow becomes available across the Manufacturing module.
Insight: Enabling Subcontracting affects two other modules: it adds the Subcontract Bill of Materials option during bill of materials creation, and it adds a Location requirement while creating a manufacturing order from a subcontracted BOM.
