# What’s the difference between a goods item and a service item?

Goods are typically tangible items that can be stored in inventory, shipped, and sold, while services are intangible and do not require inventory management or shipping logistics. Goods items have stock levels and can be tracked, whereas service items do not have stock and cannot be tracked in the same way.
