Here’s how: * Go to **Delivery Challans** under _Sales_. * Select the delivery challan associated with the goods that were delivered. * Click **Mark as Delivered** at the top of the page. * * * ### Convert to Invoice If you created a delivery challan to deliver goods for a sale, you can create an invoice for it. Here’s how: * Go to **Delivery Challans** under _Sales_. * Select the delivery challan for which you want to create an invoice. * Click the **More** icon at the top of the page and select **Convert to Invoice**. * In the _New Invoice_ page, the invoice details will be auto-populated. * Verify the details and click **Save & Send** to send the invoice to your customer. **Note:** To view the invoice associated with a delivery challan, go to \*\*Delivery Challans\*\* under \*Sales\*, select a Delivery Challan, and click the \*\*Invoices\*\* tab on the details page. **Pro tip:** If only some items from your delivery challan were sold, you can create an invoice for those specific items. Then, the delivery challan will be marked as \*\*Partially Invoiced\*\*. * * * ### Mark as Returned If your goods were not delivered to the destination and had to be returned, you can mark the corresponding delivery challan as returned. Here’s how: * Go to **Delivery Challans** under _Sales_. * Select the delivery challan associated with the returned goods. * Click the **More** icon at the top of the page and select **Mark as Returned**. * Click **Return** in the confirmation pop-up that appears. Note that this action cannot be reverted. **Note:** To view the returned items of a Delivery Challan, go to \*\*Delivery Challans\*\* under \*Sales\*, select a Delivery Challan, and click the \*\*Returned Items\*\* tab on the details page. * * * ### Record Partial Return **Note:** You can record a partial return for delivery challans that have been partially invoiced. After delivering the items in an order, if your customer accepts and purchases only some of them, you can record a return for the remaining items. Let’s consider a scenario to understand this better. **Scenario:** Manish dispatched three boxes of raw materials to a manufacturing firm and issued a delivery challan for their transportation. However, upon delivery, he discovers that the customer needed only two boxes. Therefore, Manish can generate an invoice for two boxes and record a partial return for the remaining box. To record a partial return for the items in your delivery challan: * Go to **Delivery Challans** under _Sales_. * Select the delivery challan associated with the partially returned goods. * Click the _More_ icon at the top of the page and select **Record Partial Returns**. * Select the items that were returned and enter their quantity in the pop-up that appears. * Click **Proceed**. **Note:** You can record only one return on a delivery challan. To record another return, you must undo the first return and then re-record it. * * * ### Undo Partial Return If you want to undo a partial return that you recorded: * Go to **Delivery Challans** under _Sales_. * Select the delivery challan for which you want to undo the return. * Click the _More_ icon at the top of the page and select **Undo Partial Returns**. Now, your transaction will be restored to its original state before the partial return was initiated. * * * ### Customise Delivery Challan Template You can customise the [PDF template](/billing/help/settings/customisation/templates.html) for a delivery challan. Here’s how: * Go to **Delivery Challans** under _Sales_. * Select the delivery challan for which you want to customise the template. * In the details page, hover over the delivery challan PDF and click the **Customize** dropdown in the top right corner to customize the template. * * * ### Status of a Delivery Challan A delivery challan in Zoho Billing can have any one of the following statuses. Status Description Draft When a delivery challan is created, it will be in the _Draft_ status. Open When the goods have been dispatched for delivery, the delivery challan will be in the _Open_ status. Delivered When the goods have been delivered to the recipient, the delivery challan will be in the _Delivered_ status. Returned When the dispatched goods have been returned, the delivery challan will be in the _Returned_ status. * * * ### Filter Delivery Challans You can filter delivery challans based on their statuses. Here’s how: * Go to **Delivery Challans** under _Sales_. * Click the **Filter** dropdown in the top left corner of the page. * Select the type of delivery challan you want to view from the dropdown. * * * ### Sort Delivery Challans You can sort delivery challans based on their columns. Here’s how: * Go to **Delivery Challans** under _Sales_. * Click the **More** icon in the top right corner of the page and select **Sort by**. * From the dropdown, select the column based on which the delivery challans should be sorted. * The sorting can be done based on ascending or descending order (indicated by the arrow). Click the column name again to change the sorting order. * * * ### Refresh List To refresh the customizations made to the list page of the Delivery Challan module: * Go to **Delivery Challans** under _Sales_. * Click the **More** icon in the top right corner of the page. * Click **Refresh List**. * * * ![](/billing/images/ask-zia/askzia-logo.svg) Continue with Zia... 1 ![](/billing/images/ask-zia/floating-send.svg) ![](/billing/images/ask-zia/askzia-color.svg)Ask Zia [Contact Support](https://www.zoho.com/in/billing/contact-us?src=help_bot)[Sign up for free](https://www.zoho.com/in/billing/signup/?src=help_bot) ![](/billing/images/ask-zia/end-chat.svg)![](/billing/images/ask-zia/pin-chat.svg) Loading response Ask Zia is powered by AI.
