[Back](./) # How do I add opening balance branchwise for contacts and accounts? To record the opening balance for accounts: * Go to _Settings_ on the top right corner of the page. * Select **Opening Balances** under _Organization_. * Click the **Edit** icon and select the desired branch in the branch field. * Enter the opening balance amount for each account displayed in the list. * Click **Continue** to save the changes. To record the opening balance for customers: * Go to the **Sales** module on the left side bar and select _Customers_. * Select the specific customer for whom you want to update the opening balance. * On the details page of the customer, select **View Opening Balance** in the overview tab. * Associate the relevant branch in the **Branch Name** field and enter the opening balance amount. Now the opening balance for the customer would be updated for the associated branch. Similarly, you can follow the same steps to update opening balance for vendors from **Vendors** module. * * *
