# While generating the e-Way Bill, the distance is mandatory. How do I calculate the distance?

The distance for an e-Way Bill can be calculated in two ways:

**Automatic Calculation (by entering 0)**:

When generating the e-Way Bill in Zoho Books, you can enter **0** in the distance field. The system will automatically calculate the distance based on the dispatch and delivery locations.

**Manual Calculation (using Calculate Distance)**:

On the e-Way Bill creation page in Zoho Books, click the **Calculate Distance** option next to the distance field. This will redirect you to the e-Way Bill portal, where you can input the dispatch and shipping pincode to calculate the distance.
