# After creating an item I realized that I forgot to update the SKU. Is it possible to update the SKU for the item through import ?

Yes, you can overwrite the existing item details by selecting the **Overwrite Items** option under _Duplicate Handling_ while importing.

Here’s a list of fields that you can overwrite:

*   SKU
*   HSN
*   Description
*   Sale Price & Cost Price
*   Unit
*   Preferred Vendor
*   Item Status
*   Opening stock & Opening stock rate per unit
*   Reporting Tag
*   Custom Field
*   Default Tax Rate
