# Can I view the trial balance report with opening and closing balances?

Yes, you can view the report with opening and closing balances if you generate the report for a date range. Here’s how:

*   Go to the **Reports** module and click **Accountant** from _Report Category_.
*   Choose **Trial Balance**.
*   Next to _Filters_ in the top-left corner of the page, click the dropdown next to _As of Date_ and choose **Date Range**.
*   In the dropdown next to _Today_, select **Custom**.
*   Set the date range for which you want to view the report. For example, if you want to view the report for the current financial year, set the start date to the migration date and the end date to today.
*   Click **Run Report**.

*   Now, click **Customize Report Columns**.

*   In the _Available Columns_ section, hover over **Opening Balance** and click the **+** button next to it.
*   Similarly, click the **+** icon next to _Closing Balance_.
