# Some of my employees are unable to access the portal. Why?

There could be several reasons why your employees are not to access the self-service employee portal. Please consider the following possibilities:

1.  Is the email address used by the employees to create their Zoho accounts the same as their official email addresses registered with our organization? Check if there is a mismatch.
    
2.  Is the self-service employee portal enabled for the employees? It’s possible that access to the portal has not been granted or has been disabled at the organization level. [Learn More.](https://www.zoho.com/in/payroll/help/set-preferences.html#portal-preference)
    
3.  Did the employees receive an invitation to join the portal using their official email addresses? If they did receive an invitation, they have to accept it to access the portal.
