# What is the purpose of rounding option in price lists?

The rounding off option in a price list is provided mainly to take care of the decimal values in an item price when it is marked up or down by a percentage. This also gives you an edge to make the price sound more attractive.

**Lets see an example:** Lets say the price of an item A is $19 and you have applied a 5% markdown price list to it. Now the item price will be $18.05. Using the rounding off feature you can automatically round it off to the nearest whole number making it $18 which sounds a whole lot better.
