# How do I deregister from VAT?

If your organisation is no longer meeting the eligibility criteria set by HMRC or has a turnover less than **£83,000**, you should cancel your VAT registration.

To deregister VAT in Zoho Books:

*   Go to **Settings** in the top right corner.
*   Click **Taxes** under _Taxes & Compliance_.
*   Select **VAT Settings** from the left sidebar.
*   Click **Deregister** in the top right corner of the page.
*   Choose a **VAT Deregistration Date** and click **Deregister**.

Your organisation will no longer remain as a VAT registered business after the deregistration process.
