# How to add a Postgraduate Loan deduction?

A **Post Graduate Loan** deduction tells Zoho Payroll to collect postgraduate loan repayments through payroll for HMRC. This applies when the employee has a master’s or doctoral loan and their earnings exceed the postgraduate loan threshold.

To add **Post Graduate Loan** for an employee:

1.  Go to **Employees** and open the employee, or stay on the **Salary** step while adding an employee.
2.  Under **Deductions**, click **\+ Add New**, or click **Deductions** on the Salary step.
3.  Select **Post Graduate Loan** as the deduction type.
4.  Click **Save**.

Deductions are rounded down to the nearest pound.
