# What if I need to make changes to an approved payroll?

Once a payroll is **approved** in Zoho Payroll, it **cannot be edited**.

If you need to make corrections after approval, delete the recorded payment if you have already marked the pay run as paid, then reject the pay run and edit it. If you cannot reverse the pay run, record the correction as an earning or deduction in a future pay run.

To help avoid errors, Zoho Payroll includes a built-in **Pay Run Approval Flow** (available in select [pricing plans](/uk/payroll/pricing/)), which adds an extra layer of review:

*   **Users without approval permission** must **submit the payroll for approval**, after which an authorised user will review and approve it.
*   **Users with approval permission** can **submit and approve** the payroll in a single step.
