# Who is Form 1099 issued to?

Form 1099 is issued to people who earn income from different sources. This includes those who receive rent payments, royalties, freelance or contract work, bank interest, and income from real estate transactions, It also applies to people who receive government benefits such as unemployment or tax refunds.
