How do overtime and double time work?

When employees work more than 8 hours a day or the first 8 hours during the seventh consecutive work day, they need to be compensated for the extra time they clocked in. This is usually 1.5 times their regular rate of pay.

​ Double time is when employees work more than 12 hours a day or more than 8 hours during the seventh consecutive work day. In such a case, they are paid twice their regular wage.
