# Why is an invoice showing as Overdue when the payment is already recorded?

If an invoice is shown as **Overdue** on the Dashboard even though you have recorded the payment, the payment was most likely recorded with a future payment date.

A payment recorded with a future date is not considered when the invoice status is calculated until that payment date is reached.

To confirm this, open the invoice and check the date of the recorded payment. If the payment date is in the future, the invoice will stop showing as _Overdue_ once that date is reached.
