35 Replies to SecurePass Email: confidential and password-protected email

  1. The feature is awesome! What if I want to share credentials with only one person in the "TO" list and not with the "CC" list? The existing feature allows everyone to view mail content using a passcode. Scenario: The critical document, email credentials, phone number, etc. I want to share with some other department members in "TO" and don't want the same to be accessible to other departments in "CC". Sometimes a few chain mails are like that. I hope i was able to explain the need, as I just faced this problem.

  2. Nice new feature! ? Zoho mail keeps getting better and better. Not quite sure why there has to be a second email with a separate code - since the receiver is one and the same, could it not be done in 1 email (link)? Idea: Making SecurePass emails visible for one single view (in addition to 1 day, 1 week, …) would be great to send out passwords to clients ^?^ Thank you Zoho Team for your awesome service! ?

    1. Hi Ben! Thank you for trying out the feature and letting know your feedback. We've communicated your suggestions to our development team. The idea of viewing the SecurePass emails only one time is really a good one. We've added that to our roadmap and will keep you updated on that.

  3. Hi! Thank you very much for creating this feature. It is very needed. I have tried it and I wanted to give some feedback if I may. I think it is great as is, but would be even better if it had more options. Specifically, if you could choose to send a code by text or email or just set up a password before sending. Also, if you could choose whether or not the password holder can copy, download, print before sending. Just some thoughts that would make it even better and extremely useful. As a general note, I absolutely LOVE Zoho mail! So thank you for all your work to make it the best email provider I've ever used.

    1. Hello Myra! Thank you so much for trying out the feature and the kind words! We're happy to know that you love Zoho Mail and our new feature. 1. Hello Peter, As of now, we don't support the download of attachments from a SecurePass email as it has been developed to prevent people apart from the intended recipient to have access to the content of the email. We have communicated your query to our technical team and we'll keep you updated on it.

  4. no puedo recibir ni enviar correos, quizá es por pago pero la persona con quien contactaba no responde o cambio de numero, porfavor su apoyo es urgente

    1. Hi Lynne, It's good to know that you've tried out the feature. Please ask the recipient to check their Spam folder for the email with a passcode and ask them to remove the email address from Spam. If the issue still persists please write to us at support(at)zohomail(dot)com.

    1. Hello Cyril! Yes, if the recipient is also a Zoho Mail user. They can password protect the reply the same way it's done for a new email. If the recipient is not a Zoho Mail user the replies cannot be password protected as it's done in Zoho Mail. They can use the option provided by their email service provider to send a confidential email.

  5. Hello Zoho, Would be good as a paid user of zoho one to remove the advertising below you add in emails : SecurePass is a feature in Zoho Mail using which you can send highly secure, private, and confidential information via email to your contacts. You can set a validity period for these emails and further secure them by restricting actions like Print, Forward, and by disabling tracking. Find out more. Possible ? Best

    1. Hey Seb! We've communicated your query to our development team. We'll update you regarding the same as soon as possible.

  6. It's a nice feature. But it looks like the replies are not password protected anymore. It'd be great if all major email services agree on a standard for a streamlined experience. :)

    1. Hi Lin! Thank you so much for trying out the feature. You can password protect your replies the same way you do it for a new email. To password protect your replies, click the SecurePass icon in your reply compose window and click Apply after choosing the expiry date. Your replies will also be password protected.

  7. This is great! Thank you for adding this to our service. I also like the answers you gave others here, so I won't add anything more at this time. Not until I've used it and see how it works.

  8. Is there any option to leave out the following: "They also cannot download, print, or copy and paste the email content. After the set expiry date, the email’s contents will no longer be accessible to the recipients." What if I just want the transmission to the recipient to be secure, without imposing these extra restrictions on them??

    1. Hello Terry! As of now, we don't have an option just to password protect the email without any restrictions. Your emails are secure at rest and transit when sent using Zoho Mail as we use TLS and S/MIME to encrypt your emails. For more information refer here. Please feel free to mail us at support(at)zohomail(dot)com in case you have any queries, suggestions, or feedback.

  9. Interesting feature, thank you! The email cannot be printed, but doing a screen capture and printing it is possible, but I guess there is no way to prevent that?

    1. Hi Susan! Thank you for trying out the feature. Yes, we prevent the recipient from printing, downloading, or forwarding the content of the email. Sadly, taking screenshots of the content can't be prevented.

    1. Good day, Caroline. We regret your inconvenience. Please mail us at support(at)zohomail(dot)com. Our support team will help you resolve the issue.

  10. So, the password is sent to the receipient through an email? Is there no option to send it out-of-band (if the sender wants to send it through Signal or WhatsApp, etc.)?

    1. Hello Curious! Yes, as of  now, we email the passcode to the recipient. We're working on options to send it via SMS or WhatsApp, and those will be available soon.

        1. Hi Dilawar, We're exploring the option of sharing the passcode via Zoho Vault. We will keep you updated on that.
