22 Replies to What's new in Notebook: check spelling and grammar, sketch across platforms, and use exciting new integrations

  1. I would like to see a wider range of fonts available, especially less formal styles that are meant to look like handwriting. I prefer contemporary styles rather than cursive. Very pleased to see the update with the introduction of tables. ;-)

  2. I would like to create different sections within a notebook. For example a notebook called work, containing various subsections such as overtime or projects and then different notes within those sub sections. Hope that makes sense. I’ve just transferred from onenote and it’s the only thing I’m missing.

  3. Hi, here are a few Suggestions: 1. I hope you can query the notebook's remaining capacity on the client side and the webpage side 2. Want to support the Markdown language 3. Want support for inserting images, music, and videos from urls

    1. Hi, Yes we’ll be able to get the remaining availability. Currently we aren’t showing this anywhere. We’ll add this and saving images music, videos from urls feature to our feature request list, and will get it added in the future. Adding markup feature to our editor is already a work in progress. This feature will be live soon. Follow us on Twitter @zohonotebook for any latest updates.

  4. Hi, can the spellchecker be switched off? Especially when you're using a lot of special terms, and you don't want to teach them all to the system, the highlighting can be really annoying.

    1. Hi Gregor, Yes, the spell checker can be turned off by a few simple steps. 1. Open the Notebook web app (https://notebook.zoho.com) and click on your profile picture at the top-right corner. 2. Click Settings3. Under Note Cards, you will find an option Spell Check4. Check No if you want to turn off the spell check functionality. P.S - Even if you turn off the spell check, you can perform it as a one-off operation for your notecards by clicking on the spell check button at the bottom. If you have any more queries or suggestions, reach out to us at support@zohonotebook.com

        1. Hi Nicola, It is not possible as of now. But we'll take this up and keep you posted regarding its progress. Thanks!

  5. I am unable to find the integration with Google Drive. Could someone point me in the right direction on how to do that? Thank you!

    1. Hi Adrienne, here's how you can use the Notebook and Google Drive integration. 1. Open any File Card in the Notebook web app. (https://notebook.zoho.com) 2. 6. Thank you guys for the great app so far. It seems that you are trying, and thats all it matters. I did extensive research recently in note apps and I find that Notability and Goodnotes having some cool function such as: - work side by side in to two notes - record audio and keep notes at the same time. Go back and see your handwriting showing up as you play the recorded video - Free text writing as well with attaching images, photos, maps, website, text, simple shapes such as rectangulars and circles, etc - More than one page in handwriting such as in real paper and chapters - Insert simple tables on a free handwriting feature - Rounded corners at your buttons make them more attractive ;-) Your interface is very good and simple and this is one of the main things you need to have. I hope this helps and keep up the good work :-) Vasilis

    1. Hi Vasilis, Thank you for taking the time to write your thoughts on Notebook. We really appreciate the effort and would like to let you know that some of the features are already available in Notebook. You can record audio and keep notes at the same time in parallel in the Text Card and insert images, websites, code blocks, and block quotes within the Text Card as well. Inserting tables and shapes, paging for Sketch Card and the rest are in our road-map and you can expect them in our next round of updates. If you have any more suggestions or queries, you can always reach out to us at support@zohonotebook.comThanks!

  7. Great new features. I do wish I could have spell check in more than one language, so I could use it for foreign language learning. I'd like to turn on another language for those notebooks but keep English for my other notebooks. I don't see anywhere on the web version to specify a language dictionary, so I guess it just uses the default for your location. BTW, for anyone reading Szymon's comment and wondering, pasting images from the clipboard works fine on the web version, too. I use it that way in ChromeOS.

    1. Hi Mel, Thank you for your appreciation. What you are suggesting is actually a good use-case. We have already added it to our road-map and are working on it. Will keep this thread updated with its progress. Additionally, if you have any more suggestions/feedback, please feel free to contact us at support@zohonotebok.com

  8. Hi, Thank you so much, it is really a great App actually I need to add a table in my note, but there is no such functionality can you please add Table functionality in notes?

  9. That's great that Notebook is evolving but we are still missing a core functionality which is pasting screenshots from the clipboard. It's so essential... We can't use Notebook without it so it basically disqualifies this app :/

    1. Hi Szymon Kucharski, We support pasting screenshots from the clipboard in our mobile apps and the support for desktop is in our road map and will be implemented soon. If you have any suggestions/feedback regarding Notebook please write to us at support@zohonotebook.com
