How is my card tokenised?

When you select Save this card as per RBI guidelines and complete the OTP verification, Zoho Payments requests your card network to generate a token for your card. This process is known as Card-on-File (CoF) tokenisation.

The consent you give and the OTP verification you complete during the payment together satisfy the RBI requirement to save your card. Once your card issuer approves the request, a unique token is created and linked to your card and the business. Future payments with that business use the token instead of your actual card number.
