E-Reporting

E-reporting is the process of sending required sales data to the French tax authority, DGFiP, for transactions that do not go through e-invoicing.

Unlike e-invoicing, e-reporting does not send the invoice to your customer through the e-invoicing portal. In Zoho Inventory, you use it mainly for B2C and international sales, while sharing the invoice with your customer separately, for example as a PDF.

Zoho Inventory currently supports e-reporting for invoices, credit notes, and payments received, so you can report both the transaction and the payment information from the relevant sales records.

Scenario: Patricia, an accounts receivable specialist at Zylker, a French consultancy, sells to an individual customer in France who cannot receive invoices through the e-invoicing portal. Patricia sends the invoice as a PDF and reports the sale using e-reporting in Zoho Inventory. B2Brouter batches the sales data for DGFiP, and Patricia can track the report’s status in Zoho Inventory.

Zoho Inventory uses e-reporting for sales transactions that do not go through e-invoicing. This includes:

  • B2C sales in France
  • Sales to customers outside France

Note: E-reporting currently supports only sales transactions. Support for purchase transactions will be added soon.

Report Invoices and Credit Notes

To report an invoice or credit note:

  • Go to Sales on the left sidebar and select Invoices or Credit Notes.

  • Select the transaction.

  • If the transaction is in Draft status, click Mark as Open.

  • If the E-Invoice Status is Excluded from E-Invoicing and the E-Report Status is Yet To Be Pushed, click E-Report Invoice.

  • In the confirmation pop-up, click Push.

Zoho Inventory uses e-reporting only when the transaction does not qualify for e-invoicing. You can track the progress from the details page.

Report Payments Received

You can also report payments received in Zoho Inventory.

To report a payment:

  • Go to Sales on the left sidebar and select Payments Received.
  • Select the payment.
  • Click Report Payment.
  • In the confirmation pop-up, click Report Payment again.

Note: Push or report the associated invoice before you report the payment.

E-Reporting Statuses

On the transaction details page, Zoho Inventory displays the E-Report Status below the E-Invoice Status.

B2Brouter, the approved platform, collects e-reporting data and submits it to DGFiP once every 10 days. As a result, the final e-reporting outcome is available only after that batch is processed.

You may see the following statuses for a transaction or payment:

StatusDescription
Yet To Be PushedThe transaction or payment is eligible for e-reporting but has not been submitted yet.
Push InitiatedThe transaction or payment has been pushed from Zoho Inventory to B2Brouter.
SubmittedB2Brouter has collected the data and submitted it successfully to DGFiP.
FailedDGFiP did not accept the e-reporting submission. Expand the dropdown to view the reason, create a correction invoice, make the required changes, and push it again.
