Connect Zoho Payments MCP to Other Clients
Zoho Payments MCP works with AI agents, IDEs, and automation tools that support the Model Context Protocol. Streamable HTTP is one of the ways an MCP client can talk to a remote MCP server. If your client supports this transport, you can connect it to your Zoho MCP server and run payment tools from your AI client.
Insight: Clients known to work with Zoho Payments MCP include Zed, Continue, Cline, n8n, and others that support Streamable HTTP transport. For client-specific setup steps, refer to the Claude, Cursor, Windsurf, and VS Code docs. If setup fails, refer to the Zoho MCP help documentation or write to us at support@zohomcp.com.
Note: Treat your MCP server URL like a password and keep it confidential. Anyone who has it can run the tools enabled on your server, such as creating refunds or payment links, on your account.
Configure Zoho Payments MCP
You can manually configure your Zoho MCP server in clients that support Streamable HTTP transport.
To connect your MCP server to your client:
- Open your client’s MCP or integrations settings.
- Add a new MCP server. The steps depend on what your client offers:
- If your client has an Add server or New connection option: Set the transport to HTTP or Streamable HTTP, then paste the MCP URL from the Connect tab in your Zoho MCP console into the server URL field.
- If your client uses an
mcp.jsonconfig file: Open the file and add the configuration block shown below, replacing the sample URL with the MCP URL from the Connect tab in your Zoho MCP console.
- Save your changes and enable Agent mode (or equivalent) in your client.
Here’s the configuration for the mcp.json file. It uses mcp-remote to connect over Streamable HTTP, so Node.js (npx) must be installed on your machine:
{
"mcpServers": {
"ZohoMCP": {
"command": "npx",
"args": [
"mcp-remote",
"https://zohopayments-120766338.testzohomcp.com/mcp/****************/message",
"--transport",
"http-only"
]
}
}
}
Your client can now run Zoho Payments tools through the MCP server.
Disconnect MCP Server
If you no longer need the MCP integration, you can disconnect the Zoho MCP server from your client at any time by removing its configuration.
To disconnect your MCP server:
- Open your client’s MCP or integrations settings.
- Locate Zoho MCP server in the list.
- Disable or remove the server entry.
- If you used a JSON config file, open it and delete the Zoho Payments entry from the
mcpServersobject. - Save the file and refresh your client’s MCP settings.
Your MCP server will be disconnected. You’ll need to follow the setup steps again to reconnect it.
