Configure Tax & National Insurance

Configuring your tax details is a crucial step to get started with Zoho Payroll. This helps Zoho Payroll to:

  • Calculate the PAYE tax and National Insurance you must deduct from your employees.
  • Work out the employer National Insurance you owe to HMRC.
  • Apply any reliefs you’re eligible for, such as Small Employers’ Relief and Employment Allowance.
  • Submit accurate Real Time Information (RTI) reports to HMRC each time you run payroll.

In Settings > Taxes > Tax Details, you can configure your HMRC employer references and tax preferences.

Configure Tax Details

To configure your tax details:

  1. Go to Settings and click Tax Details under Taxes.
  2. Click Configure.
  3. Enter the required details:

  2. Click Save.

Your configuration will be saved. Zoho Payroll will then use these details to calculate tax and National Insurance for your organisation and employees, and to file your RTI submissions with HMRC on your organisation’s behalf.
